October Para-Athlete of the Month: Bryce Foster

A message from the athlete:

I became an amputee after 12 years of surgeries trying to reconstruct and save my leg from congenital defects from birth. I chose to have it amputated at age 13, and it was the best decision I have ever made! I am a true believe that anything is possible and I believe I am an example of that. I was never much of a volleyball player prior to the national team but here I am trying to qualify for the 2021 Paralympics! I urge each and every one of us to try and become more understanding and accepting of physical challenges and disabilities

About Bryce:

Bryce was born with a club foot, and after almost 20 surgeries, he made the decision to amputate at the age of thirteen. He is an avid athlete who played basketball, golf and tennis at the varsity level in high school. He was approached about becoming a para-athlete and Bryce joined the men's sitting volleyball national team in 2019 and is now a bronze medalist.
